McCain Library is committed to providing equal access to library collections, services and facilities for all library users. Below you will find information on library services available for students with disabilities, those registered with the Office of Accessible Education or others needing assistance with access.

Please contact Christopher Bishop (404.471.6337) for an oral overview of the library floor maps. We are also happy to meet with students in-person to provide an overview of the library and to answer any questions.
- Directions to Agnes Scott College are online here.
- McCain Library is located in the middle of campus, building #19 on this campus map. Accessible parking spots are located in front of Presser Hall (building #5 on the map).
- There is a ramp in front of the library building to enter Floor 1; call 404.471.6094 for assistance in opening the heavy front doors. A push-button door opener is available on the east side, Ground Floor level door closest to Woodruff Quad and Alston. An elevator will bring you to Floor 1.
- The elevator runs between all floors, in the center of the library building.
- Floor maps are posted at the elevator and online here. Ground and Floor 1 accessible entrances are shown below.
- Accessible restrooms are located on each floor, generally in the rear right corner.
- A variety of seating and study space options are available. Details are here.
- Quiet space is designated on Floor 3 and Stack 3.
- Need distraction-free space? Media Viewing Rooms may be reserved online.
- Contact staff at the Checkout Desk for help with scanning or printing during library hours (404.471.6094, library@819057.com).
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR) allows users to scan and convert print text to machine-readable PDF files. This option is available on all Canon machines in the library.
- All McCain Library desktop and laptop PCs include “Ease of Access” settings that allow the user to magnify text, edit colors and contrast, use a narrator, add closed captioning, and utilize other helpful tools.
- If the program and/or software needed is not available on a McCain Library computer, contact library@819057.com or phone Christopher Bishop at 404.471.6337 to discuss next steps. We will work with both the Office of Accessible Education and campus ITS to determine whether the needed application is or can be made available on campus.
